Although Artspace Cinderford is an independent registered charity, we operate more as a social enterprise.

We receive revenue funding from Arts Council England as an RFO, and the Forest of Dean District Council through a Service Level Agreement.

We currently receive a small amount of project funding from Gloucestershire County Council and three year project funding form the Big Lottery Young People’s Fund; both of these are specifically for our work with young people.

Together these funding streams are insufficient to pay our core salaries bill and overheads. The shortfall each year has to be made up through earned income and one off project applications. So being a charity doesn’t mean our services can be free.
