Exhibitions & Events at The New Mercury
The New Mercury has two small light gallery spaces with windows on the street.
As our business is community arts, Artspace regularly uses these to display work created by participants in our projects and courses.
Our exhibitions are a demonstration of our inclusive approach to the arts. We aim to enhance people’s confidence and pride in their work by:
- displaying a range of work with no reference to the artists’ ability or disability
- displaying all work to a professional standard, keeping a stock of mounts and frames for this purpose
We are happy to host exhibitions from other individuals or organisations subject to availability of gallery space and compatibility with Artspace’s ethos. We do not charge rent for the spaces but charge 20% commission on any work sold as a contribution towards overheads and provision of frames etc.
