Artspace Cinderford Open Week
Artspace Cinderford Open Week
To celebrate the launch of our new look, we are holding a week of free activities for families over the October half term from Monday 27 October.
Free drop in workshops in animation, ceramics, felt making, photography, circus and trapeze skills will be on offer as well as the opportunity to practice your drawing skills as part of the Big Draw, a nationwide campaign encouraging drawing. Artspace Cinderford will be giving out postcards for people to draw on, all of which will feature in a giant exhibition at the end of the week. Postcards will then be available to buy for a pound, the money supporting arts provision within the Forest of Dean.
The workshops and exhibition will take place at The New Mercury behind the Palace Cinema in the centre of Cinderford. Further details are available by calling Rachel for details on 01594 825111 ext 4 or emailing rachel@artspacecinderford.org
The open week celebrates 20 years of Artspace Cinderford working in and around the Forest of Dean and coincides with the launch of ournew logo and website www.artspacecinderford.org which goes live on 27 October 2008 and brings together all the work done by the organisation, youth arts, adult arts and outreach work in schools, care centres and community venues.
The logo was created using a drawing by one of Artspace’s young people, Rosie Brice, and designed by Rob Arkell of Beacon Graphics in Mitcheldean in consultation with ffinlo Kilner, Marketing Manager for Artspace. ffinlo commented, “Artspace has been doing a fantastic job with a wide variety of local people and organisations for 20 years now. We would like to ensure that anyone whether a child or adult within the Forest and surrounding area knows that there are life-changing opportunities open to them at Artspace Cinderford.”
To get involved please call Rachel for details on 01594 825111 ext 4 or email rachel@artspacecinderford.org or just call in between 9.30am and 6.00pm Monday to Thursday for a chat.
