Feast for the Eyes Print Making Exhibition

Exhibition at the New Mercury Building

Showcasing Artwork made this year on the Adult Education Printmaking course and an Arts in Health Project.

“Art Lift” is the counties’ Arts in Health Project that aims to improve peoples emotional and physical well being, through participating in creative activities. People are referred onto the free art classes via their GP.

Funded through the PCT (Primary Care Trust), professional artist/printmaker Niki White has been working as artist in residence based at Blakeney GP Surgery. She has been teaching a number of printmaking techniques using different papers, printing inks and rollers, along with small etching press. Printmaking is very spontaneous and expressive and doesn’t have to rely on any level of drawing skills.

All the prints on paper celebrate colour, shape, texture and pattern. The exhibition aims to promote printmaking, encourage new leaners for September’s Adult Education class and possible new referrals onto the “Art Lift” project.

The Exhibition will be held at the New Mercury Building from the 7th August to the 1st September 2010.

There will also be a private viewing on Friday 6th August between 5.00 – 8.00 pm, refreshments will be served and you will have the opportunity to meet the artists and discuss the artwork on show.
