The Artspace Homegrown Exhibition 2011 –
Celebrating The Creativity In The Forest Of Dean
Artspace Cinderford is unveiling it’s new art exhibition which will showcase work created by the people of the Forest of Dean. The exhibition will open to the public with a launch night on Friday 4th March, 7.30 – 9 pm, and will run until the 4th May.
The exhibition will feature work from across a wide range of art disciplines including printmaking, textiles, painting and ceramics, that has been created in Artspace’s art workshops which run at The New Mercury. There will also be work on display from their outreach classes which take place in community venues across the Forest of Dean in villages such as Blakeney, Mitcheldean and Joys Green, as well as in day centres run by Crossroads, The Independence Trust and at Foxes Bridge.
The exhibition co-ordinator Mark Young said “This exhibition is not only a celebration of local artists’ creativity, but also of the hard work, time and effort that each individual has put into bringing their creation to life. It is important to us that this capacity for creativity, passion and endeavor is recognised, and as a community arts centre we feel that it is our duty to offer these artists a space in which their work can be appreciated by the rest of the community.”
