Artspace Outreach Programme

Adult outreach programme

Our outreach Adult Education Programme is designed to meet some of the needs of people who face barriers to participation caused by mobility problems, rural isolation and/or mental health issues.

As part of our 2017 Adult Education programme we are running art and craft classes at:

2:00pm – 4:15pm
Start The Week Singing, with Kirsty Abraham.
Start your week harmoniously by singing on a Monday afternoon! Singing with other people helps your health (body and mind) and lifts your mood, as well as being friendly and sociable. The more you sing, the better it really does get. Songs are taught by ear – you don’t need to read music to sing with us, or to sing on your own (unless you want to). We sing songs and harmonies from around the world that can’t be sung alone. We start with vocal and body warm-ups and activities to help us sing.
Venue: Barnspace, Millers Farm, Brains Green, Blakeney GL15 4AP.
Starts: 18th September 2017. For 8 weeks with a break.
Costs: £45. Concessions: £25 for people on means tested benefits. £18.50 for people with disabilities.

10:00am – 12:30pm (First session 10:00am – 1:00pm)
Dye, Print And Stitch, with Lizzie Godden.
We use leaves, berries and rusting items, for example old nails, to dye and print onto fabric and paper. Using the exciting technique of shibori to make patterns on fabric, using plant dyes to colour. Patterns, textures and colours are exciting and amazing. We can hand embellish our pieces with stitching. We can also use our papers and fabrics in a range of bookmaking techniques. We’ll be working towards being part of Forest of Dean Open Studios in October this year
