Artspace Youth Arts Programme
Arts Awards
The Arts Awards supports young people as artists and art leaders.
It is a nationally recognised qualification at three levels, bronze, silver and gold. Achieving an Arts Award shows commitment in an art form, an interest in developing, communication, planning and evaluation skills. It also demonstrates leadership abilities as well as an arts practice. These skills are often what colleges, universities and employers are looking for and many recognise the Arts Award as an additional qualification. The Arts Award is about personal challenge and not competition against others. It is flexible; you can take as long as you wish to complete an Arts Award.
Artspace Cinderford is a registered Arts Award centre, with four trained advisers to support young people through their awards. So far, young people from Artspace Cinderford have achieved Arts Awards in circus skills, animation, pottery, textiles and printing. As part of their award they’ve also enjoyed visits to London, to the Tate art galleries, to the Royal Albert Hall to see a performance by Cirque Soleil, plus visits a little closer to home, like the Forest of Dean Sculpture Trail.
So, if you’re a young person aged between 11 and 25 and enjoy the arts…then the Arts Award is for you! If you are interested please call Rachel for details on 01594 825111 ext 4 or email rachel@artspacecinderford.org
