Creative Health Programmes

Gloucestershire Creative Health Consortium

Cinderford Artspace are one of the five founding partners of the Gloucestershire Creative Health Consortium. The consortium exists to inspire, nourish and surprise people with creative ways to manage their healthcare. Working together with NHS Gloucestershire, the consortium offers a wide range of creative ‘Arts on Prescription’ projects to individuals of all ages living in Gloucestershire.

As well as delivering a wide range of arts on prescription projects the consortium partners also aspire to deliver research and events to celebrate creative health and advocate for the creative agenda more widely. Some of the latest activity includes contributing to the NHS75 Community Art Exhibition which you can visit from 1st July – 1st September 2023 at Gloucester Cathedral and producing a paper documenting ‘The Impact of Arts on Prescription during Lockdown’ during the Covid19 pandemic.

Creative Health Projects at Cinderford Artspace

Cinderford Artspace has a strong history of delivering a wide range of programmes to support wellbeing. The Creative Health strand of work are distinguished as ‘Arts on Prescription’ programmes because of the need for a referral to be made and the collaboration present with Gloucestershire NHS Integrated Care Board and NHS Gloucestershire Foundation Trust. The two projects Artspace are running currently are ‘Journeys’, which grew from the Trailblazer Schools Programme to offer support for young people experiencing low self-esteem, and anxiety and ‘Xpres!’ for young people with long term health conditions.
