Gloucestershire Arts Award: DISCOVER AT HOME
What is Discover at Home?
Discover at Home is a special on-line version of Arts Award Discover, the first level of Arts Award. It is aimed at children aged 11 and under. – During Covid-19, it feels even more vital to highlight new ways that young people and their families can engage with the arts while they are at home. Arts Award Discover at Home fits the bill, and is a fantastic way for children and young people to be rewarded for the creative activities they enjoy. You can even get a certificate!

We are working with Create Gloucestershire and The Real Ideas Organization (Rio) to offer a series of Creative Challenges that once completed meet all of the requirements of a Discover Arts Award.
A Discover Arts Award is made up of three parts (A,B & C), to achieve the award, children and young people should complete all three parts:
- Part A: Take part in creative or arts activities and discover different types of ‘art’
- Part B: Find out about at least one artist and their work
- Part C: Share with others what they enjoyed and learned through doing the award
Discover at Home encourages children to:
- Take part in arts activities
- Find out more about an artist or arts organisation
- Share their arts discoveries with others
How do I get involved?
Trinity College London in association with Arts Council England have designed a set of free resources which include templates, suggestions of creative activities and easy to follow guidance for parents & carers to support their young people. It’s a great option for parents & carers who may not be arts specialists themselves or are looking for something different to keep children engaged and entertained.
